The system offers the following advantages to the user:
1. Facilitation of lift adjustment
The correctly adjusted lift is a key factor for a high-quality stud weld. The travel measuring system permits to read the adjusted lift in the display of the stud welding unit (PRO-D/PRO-C). This eliminates the need for the manual measurement of the lift.
2. Monitoring of welding quality by collection and storage of stud travel
The travel measuring system measures the stud travel (lift, piston runtime, immersion depth) for each weld. The measured values are shown in the display of the stud welding unit (PRO-D/ PRO-C).
The recorded welding parameters are compared to the parameters of a reference weld (tolerances adjustable). In case of variances to the reference weld a warning is displayed or the unit is locked for further welds until the release by the operator (functionality can be switched off).
By default the last ten welding parameter sets are stored in the stud welding unit. Optionally, a welding parameter memory for the storage of 24500 welding parameter sets (storage with date and time) with RS232-interface for data transmission (welding parameter sets) to a PC is available.
* The travel measuring system only works in conjunction with series PRO-D and PRO-C stud welding units.
